1/31/19: Ariana Grande is played out - but look, I'm still talking about her. I love the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel - want to be her, want to dress like her, want to date that hot doctor like her. Mumble rap and most Trap music is ridiculous and I feel like an old codger every time it come on. With all the new methods of delivering televised/online programming there are way...too...many...channels (when I was a kid there were seven. Yes, 7 channels). Social media sites are cannibalizing themselves. As much I like Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, I miss Jon Stewart. A kid I know called a records the other day a "vinyl CD".
3/27/16: I can't believe I can't get this started. I breathe pop culture. From the magazines that pile up, to the newsfeeds, to the countless television shows I consume...I don't get it. For the life of me I can't figure out why I cant' kickstart this page. I guess I can at least start with what I'm watching now on television - it's all through cable as I'm too effing lazy lately to finagle the different sources to get Netflix on - and I just don't like watching it through my computer. So...here goes, in no particular order - and as you can see its all over the map:
- Once Upon A Time
- Quantico
- The Magicians
- Younger
- Teachers
- Modern Family
- Brooklyn 99
- Parks & Rec - okay - that one IS on Netflix, but I only see it when my son wrangles the inputs.
- Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
- Chrisley Knows Best
- Brain Games
- Nova
- Naked and Afraid
- The Late Late Show With James Corden
- Grandfathered
- The Grinder
Sometime in early 2016, I think: Coming Soon - Magsramblings on all things bubblegum pop. What you may find in the near future are things having to do with abs, lipo, hoverboards, and boy bands. Okay, maybe there will be something with more substance, but I will make a tried and true effort to never mention anyone that has to do with a certain family of brunettes who have commanded the pop culture landscape for far too long.
Feeling very badly that I have not yet watched the recent Golden Globes which would have been a perfect first entry...especially with that bawdy Brit at the helm...what was I thinking?
