MagzPoliticks

3-2-19:  How do you...what the...I don't...PLEASE stop the insanity.  I liked Trump when he was just a celebrity.  He was great at that.  I didn't agree with a lot of his personal choices, but it's not like we were friends.  He was (and still is) over-the-top and out-on-a-limb, and bigger and grander than life - and as a celebrity that was absolutely fine.  All of that simply has NO place in politics.  While for a long time I used to say that we needed a business person in the White House - someone with a proven record of success to lead what amounts to the biggest business in the world, essentially, I didn't necessarily mean it should be the President.  Or if it was, it needed to be someone with a reasonable moral compass.  Are the two really so exclusive?  Can one be a successful businessperson AND have a reasonable moral compass?  I think I have a pretty decent compass, but I'm no businessperson.  And I know plenty of people on the opposite side.  Who is in the middle?

1-31-19: I...can't...even. This White House is insane.  In...sane.

3-27-16: The insanity is enough to make me turn away from as much media as possible.  The race for the Presidency is so depressing.  Trump has become a bad word in this house as his vulgar ridiculousness is just embarrassing as an American and a human being.  Cruz is a joke.  I still haven't bought the whole Sanders bag, and then there's Clinton.  I seriously don't have time to wade through all the vitriol and misinformation on all these people and I don't care to.  The behavior of the American people for the most part is reprehensible, the corruption clear and without consequence, and if anything could make me even consider for a moment that one person's election could mean the end to life as we know it...this would be the time.

2-1-16: Good grief, this is going to be unbearable.  While I could go on about the candidates, and on, and on, and on...I'm assuming y'all have had enough of that blather.  I'm just still so stunned at the idea that out of 350 million or so people this current slate is what we come up with.  Though if I HAD to pick, right now, or have my toenails peeled off...no, I'm not even going to say.  Not yet.  It's just not worth it.  But I'm also a bit stunned at this whole Iowa thing.  How they do it.  Why they do it.  The way they do it.  Did I seriously just see footage of a woman opening up little slips of paper with handwritten votes on them, that she pulled from bins from the dollar store, and then counting the piles?  Like my Girl Scouts do when they want to choose a name for a project?

1-19-16: The next 10 months of this year are going to be simply ridiculous.  I'd love to just somehow make everyone go to sleep until Election Day and then BOOM! we all wake up, vote for President and move on.

More coming soon. And see, there already is.

Could be local - even hyperlocal,  Could be worldly.  Certainly will have some nonesense about the upcoming U.S. presidential hullaballoo.  Stay tuned.  For the time being - check out my Twitter feed at @magzland.  I got a little silly with the State of the Union over there.
